During this time, and amongst such people, the word "God" will not so much as be uttered. The prophecy, based on a number of hadiths, is more detailed than that, of course. But knowing this much ought to inspire Muslims to understand a segment of the World population outside of the typically encountered faiths of Christianity, Judaism, etc. And I don't mean just atheists, but agnostics as well.

As a side note & observation, many agnostics seem to be the precuror to atheists. Both groups, however, have similar outlooks on life and morality outside of "organized religion." This very outlook is what many have steered away from within Islam (and other religions) despite much of it being the core of the religion.

To simplify the writing of this article, and at the risk of introducing an acronym, let's refer to both groups (atheists and agnostics) as non-religion followers (NRFs). NRFs by practice may surprise many who follow religions. It may even surprise many that NRFs come across as God-fearing individuals. They opt out of lying, cheating, dishonest transactions, etc. The difference is ...
<dc:subject>World Politics</dc:subject>

Are Journalists Being Ethical?

I'm dying to hear back on this very topic from journalists themselves; specifically, those from major media outlets. I'm dying to have it explained to me. I'm actually seeking an education ... a "schooling" of sorts. And I'd love to have it from the likes of the NY Times, Chicago Tribune, Fox, CNN, etc. I'm just a blogger, but I represent more than one demographic, I assure you.

Let me get to the inquiry itself.

When something happens, and the suspect happens to be a Muslim or in any way related to Islam, the name of the person is delivered as a trio --His first, middle and last name. And while that may be normal (is it?), I find it very curious that his religion is mentioned. If not that, then his occupation as it relates to Islam definitely is.

Let me explain. I don't know much about the recent news that took place in Detroit where the FBI exchanged fire with a person that resulted in that person's death, but I do know this: The raid, the shoot out, all of it were not terrorism related. Despite that, and despite the fact that law enforcement was ...
<dc:subject>World Politics</dc:subject>

Anti-Cultural-Inertia: A Mid-Life Crisis Perspective

Recently, I started thinking about things I'd like to have and how I ought to wait for this or that to happen before embarking on such things. This all lead me down a thinking road muddled with confusion. Confusion about the cultural stigma otherwise known as the "mid-life crisis."

Allow me to clarify before I embark such a topic, and give you my take & perspective. I'm not referring to the controversial medical condition or symptom of mid-life crisis; instead, I'm referring to the phase commonly believed many middle-aged men go through in their lives. Specifically, I'm referring to the cultural cliché of men where sports cars, hairpieces, and robbing the cradle (and running away) are thought to be commonplace.

Whether it was coined by Erik Erikson, and his theory of personality, or coined by Elliott Jaques as commonly referenced is irrelevant for the purposes of this perspective of mine. It is, however, worth mentioning that it's commonly spelled without a dash and as such I will continue to do so from this point onwards. What I do want to recognize, however, is that midlife crisis is an emotional period of doubt and anxiety sometimes experienced by people ...
<dc:subject>Life in general</dc:subject>

Anti-inertia Fairness - Segregation in Israel

I often come across posts on the Web from people and their view of the Middle East. And it never ceases to baffle me how some people will stand by anything, any one or any entity as long as it's against Islam & Muslims. But I don't want to make it about Islam or even religion in general. This is about the common perception out there, which many here in the US also have, about Israel.

It is without a doubt that Israel is a beautiful country, which despite all we hear and see on the news, enjoys a very "western" like lifestyle. To mistaken that lifestyle for democratic, however, is a major error in judgment. But not even that is the focus of this article. If you're interested, there's a short mention of why I don't think Israel is democratic in my last article.

Israel, as a country recognized by the UN, has within its borders the infamous areas of the West Bank, Gaza, and the Golan Heights. I'd like, however, to build on the last post, so it's essential that you read that first if you haven't already done so.

It is without a doubt that corruption in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) needs to come to a halt. This double edged sword is not only a challenging feat, but one that will likely change the political landscape for the entire World. It is no secret that despite all the negative publicity & media, Islam is the fastest growing religion. Unlike the stereotypes out there, Islam continues to spread by the action of its practitioners; and not by the sword or as much as a twist of an arm, of anyone. Reverts to Islam, as they're commonly known, are doing so all on their own ... and in huge numbers.

Where am I going with this ... Indulge me please.

I may have mentioned this before, and I know I've done so on Twitter, but we (the US) give more to Israel than we do the rest of the World combined! As an American, a tax-paying American, I would love to know why. It gets ...
<dc:subject>World Politics</dc:subject>

Strategic Anti-Inertia: Corruption in MENA

I'm going to jump right in. Corruption in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) is not just political. It's now the way of life in the region. I won't pick on war-ridden countries like Iraq, Sudan, etc., but I sure can talk about countries of the gulf (like Saudi or Kuwait), Egypt or even Jordan.

The leaders of the countries are interested in very few things: Lining their pockets with more of the money that belongs to the people, controlling their crowd to continue lining their pockets, protecting their borders to ... you guessed it ... continue ripping off the country, its people and milking its resources for personal gain, and getting a power trip from it all while doing so.

In the meantime, the people are busy trying to make ends meet. And when the World economy forces things to go a certain direction, it's the leaders that suffer the lack of control, and ultimately the shift from government owned and controlled to people run. But that's mostly true for non-oil countries. Oil rich ones have a monopoly and have a cow that they can milk. So how else can the corrupt leaders make it? Well, they start to sell ...
<dc:subject>World Politics</dc:subject>

Vision of Inertia II - I'm Not The Only One Seeing Elevens

A few days ago I wrote a post about how I've seen elevens for some time titled "Vision of Inertia - I'm Seeing Elevens." That is, it's not unusual that when I looked at the clock it would be some hour and eleven minutes (hh:11). I'd even call it out from time to time. It would happen (and still does) so often that a few years back (3 or so), I suggested that it's likely I would die at that exact minute.Because of that, I'm honestly surprised that 2012 and all of the events I've come across in the recent past had nothing to do with the number eleven. Now I know I'm obsessing over this whole 2012 thing, but out of everything I've read thus far, out of all the predictions and theories, mine has been the only one that's based on religious prophecy and some science. Most, I would argue, take science and then go straight to predictions.I'm not trying to start a war of words here where one says "mine is better than yours." Instead, I'm trying to point out that one's faith is a major element of one's life. Most of us have reconciled religion and science. ...
<dc:subject>Life in general</dc:subject>

Religious Inertia: Can't we just get along?

Today I wanted to talk about organizational inertia. Heck, I have a whole list of topics that I've put together for every time I thought of a topic. Unfortunately, I've been so consumed with more data regarding 2012 and how it all jives way too well with prophecies in Islam.

I've received some very supporting feedback and I thank you all for that. I hope to read more of your comments on a regular basis; especially since anti-inertia is still in its infancy.

A few facts ...
My non-practicing parents lead me to try things outside of Islam, literally pushing me to investigate why have I pursued it still. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't doubt in my faith; rather, it was a question of "why do I believe so strongly in it?" What exactly appeals to my logic. Given my lifestyle, but specifically how viewed the other 2 religions as sisters or cousins of Islam, I had to learn more. You spice that up with the socio-political and media coverage of Islam and I'm even more drawn to it.

A religion ought not be anything but a guide to one's direct relationship and accountability with God.
Read that one more time.

Religion, in my ...
<dc:subject>Life in general</dc:subject>

</rdf:RDF>
